Cocooner was founded from a shared belief that sensory support, comfort, and beautiful design should be able to exist together.

What started as a conversation between Mel and Hope became a shared vision for something they hadn’t seen in the sensory space: products grounded in clinical understanding, but designed with the same care and attention as the things we choose for our homes and everyday lives.

With nearly 20 years of experience in sensory integration, nervous system support, and children’s mental health, Mel has spent her career understanding what helps the body feel regulated and supported.

Again and again, she came back to one idea: the body needs to feel safe before it can truly settle. Gentle, consistent pressure can help create that sense of grounding, but many existing options felt too heavy, hot, restrictive, or clinical.

Mel believed there was room for something different. That idea became Cocooner.

Mel is also Head Coach at Psychecare, U.S. Lead for Expansion for Sensory Project USA, a Board Member of the Minnesota Occupational Therapy Association, and an international speaker on sensory processing and regulation.

Hope, Co-Founder

Hope brings the brand, creative, customer, and operational experience that helps turn Cocooner’s clinical foundation into products designed for real life.

A former photography business owner and Customer & Supply Chain Lead at Heroes Technology, Hope has worked across globally recognized family and children’s brands including Snuggle Me Organic, Boba, and Trunki. Her experience spans brand, product, customer experience, operations, and supply chain.

Together, Mel and Hope bring two different perspectives to Cocooner: a deep understanding of what the body needs and the experience to turn that understanding into products people want to live with.
